The National Centre for Culture & Recreation Statistics (NCCRS), Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
The NCCRS is the point of national data expertise and statistical
leadership in relation to culture, recreation and leisure statistics in
Australia. It has responsibility for:
- Coordinating the development of national statistics for the culture and recreation sectors;
- Providing expertise within the ABS regarding the collection and analysis of data related to culture and recreation;
- Informing governments and the community about culture and recreation through the dissemination of data and associated analyses; and
- Providing advice both within the ABS and to external stakeholders on applicable culture and recreation standards, procedures for data collection, data interpretation and appropriate data analysis.
Australian Network for Art and Technology (ANAT)
ANAT is Australia's peak network and advocacy body for artists working
with science and technology; creating opportunities for innovation,
research and development both nationally and internationally.
ANAT supports emerging and established artists in the fields of new media arts, internet, video, sound and performance to develop new work and create national and international networks. ANAT also provides financial support to artists through the quick response Professional Development Travel Fund.
ANAT collaborates with a range of science, industry and arts partners
within Australia and overseas to initiate innovative opportunities such
as residencies, databases, Masterclasses and Summer Schools. Through
avenues such as forums, artist talks and its newsletter, ANAT fosters
critical debate on the synthesis between art, culture, science and
technology.
ANAT is a not for profit organisation based in Adelaide and was formed
as an Incorporated Association in 1988. Membership of ANAT is open to
anyone with an interest in art, science and technology.
Department of Trade & Economic Development (DTED)
DTED is the South Australian Government’s key agency for economic and
industry development policy. Created in March 2004, DTED's primary role
is to contribute to ongoing economic growth and wealth creation in
South Australia, by:
- Formulating high-level policy and strategy;
- Facilitating and monitoring implementation of economic development strategies; and
- Leading and co-ordinating a whole-of-government approach to economic development.
DTED works closely with a number of key economic advisory bodies,
including the Economic Development Board, Export Council, Small
Business Development Council and Venture Capital Board.
South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC)
The SAFC is South Australia’s lead agency and support body for the
promotion, stimulation and development of the film industry in this
state.
The main functions of the SAFC are: to foster the creation and delivery
of critically acclaimed and commercially successful ideas, moving
images and sound for any viewing medium; to support the SA screen
industry in a dynamic and responsive manner and to optimise
opportunities for production & post-production in this state.
The core activities of the SAFC include:
- Screen practitioner development and support;
- Script and project development;
- Production investment funding, cash flow loans and incentives;
- Operation of production and post-production facilities; and
- Marketing of SA as a viable shooting location and the expertise of South Australian facilities and crew to both domestic and international markets.
