Assessment will consist of a combination of group and individual work. This approach will allow for formative and summative assessment that will assess practical and theoretical knowledge. A focus is on using the formative assessments to assist students in developing their knowledge prior to summative assessment tasks. All assessment tasks will be consistent with University and meet guidelines of good assessment.  Students will have the opportunity to be assessed in a variety of ways throughout the program and within courses. A variety of assessment tasks will allow students to display their ability to apply their knowledge to their technical skill base.  For example, in one of the subjects, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge by taking part in a business planning competition. This will involve team work, presentation skills, analytical and problem solving skills and application of technical knowledge within the domain of entrepreneurship and innovation. They will have the opportunity to provide a written analysis for assessment as an individual component of their assessment, as well as peer and group assessment.
