This degree is aimed at providing computer science technical skills, possibly in conjunction with management or engineering skills, to complement the candidate's skills from their first degree. Graduates should be well placed to assume leadership roles in the information technology industry. Students unfamiliar with programming in Java or a similar object-oriented programming language and who do not have a basic knowledge of computer organisation will be required to complete Computer Science Concepts (pass or higher) before further studies in computer science courses will be permitted. Students who are familiar with an object-oriented programming language but not Java may be offered an opportunity to audit this course (audit will not require students to pass or pay for the course).
In addition to courses in computer science, students may undertake some management courses or information technology related courses.
