This program of study will provide nurses working in a community or primary care position with the opportunity to explore a range of issues and topics related to professional practice in these settings. To ensure that the program is relevant to students’ practice setting, there is some scope to individualise the program by selecting from the courses that are offered in this or another program. Please discuss individual needs with the program co-ordinator.
The Master of Nursing Science (Community Health and Primary Care) provides graduates with a rigorous grounding in aspects of professional practice necessary to assume leadership roles in this area of specialty nursing practice. Students will also graduate with an understanding of areas such as incontinence, health promotion, palliative care, primary health care and chronic illness.
May include essays, case studies, discussion board participation, presentations, poster presentations, critiques, portfolios and exams.
