This double degree is specifically aimed at students wishing to pursue careers in the aerospace and mathematical and computer sciences industries and will enable students to develop a thorough understanding of mechanical and aerospace engineering principles, combined with the flexibility to acquire knowledge in applied mathematics, statistics and computer science.
The Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Aerospace) has a strong emphasis on design and engineering science fundamentals. The first two years of the degree are almost identical to the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), allowing students to build a solid foundation in core mechanical engineering skills and knowledge.
Throughout the degree, students study courses from a wide range of relevant areas, resulting in graduates who are well prepared for careers in the aerospace industry and other high-tech and mechanical engineering industries.
Students may choose to combine Aerospace Engineering with Mathematical and Computer Sciences as it will strengthen their skills in mathematics, statistics and computing. Combining this degree with a strong mathematics degree will provide an opportunity for research and enhanced employment prospects.
