This program entails computational modelling, simulation and optimisation within the engineering sciences. Computational engineering is an indispensable tool, along with experimentation and theoretical predication, in engineering practice and the advancement of scientific knowledge.
With advances in computer technology and the algorithms required to solve complex problems, computational engineering enables the development of engineering systems that are compatible with current trends of reduced emissions, fuel efficiency and the use of environmentally sustainable materials.
Assessment can vary from course to course and can include a combination of class work, tutorials, project work and exams.
Students are required to complete a minimum of 12 weeks of approved work experience.

The objective of the undergraduate Computational Engineering program is to produce graduates with specific attributes as outlined in the University Calendar.
