  • Program Outline

The Bachelor of Health Sciences/Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences is a double degree program that is designed to provide a broad education for students interested in both the health sciences and mathematical and computer sciences. In the health industry there is a growing need for graduates with a detailed understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts as they apply to the management of complex health systems and problems.

There is an increasing demand for health economists, biostatisticians and bioinformaticians, and this double degree is an excellent platform for specialising in these areas. The double degree also provides a sound basis for postgraduate study in a number of areas, including graduate medicine. Students can enrol in courses at Levels I and II for both degrees, and present a separate Level III for each degree, allowing them to complete both degrees in four years.

  • Program Structure
Students will fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Health Sciences and the Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences and receive two degree parchments on the successful completion of the 4 years of prescribed study. All students undertake a major sequence in a health sciences discipline and a major sequence in the discipline of statistics.
