There has been a sharp increase in the demand for Chinese-speaking, transcultural and transnational professionals in the global market in the past ten years. The degree complements this demand by giving students the added knowledge and learning to be employed within and beyond China with translation and transcultural communication skills. The substantial research component in the Masters program makes it possible for aspiring graduates without an Honours qualification from an Australian university to undertake PhD study, thereby providing a career path for them to pursue research careers at a global level.
