The Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship delves into the fascinating world of entrepreneurship and the role innovation plays in creating new ventures which can include large corporations, small businesses and not-for-profit or community organisations.
The program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the processes, risks, rewards, motivations and societal impact of innovation and entrepreneurship with a regional, national, and global perspective. It aims to develop and inspire individuals interested in innovative ventures that influence markets, economies and communities.
This program is suited to people who wish to use their existing skills and knowledge to develop innovative and entrepreneurial careers by establishing their own ventures or assisting others to do so.

A total of 72 units is required for this program. Students who hold an Advanced Diploma through previous studies at TAFE, a recognised Polytechnic college, or equivalent, may receive advanced standing to the value of 36 units; equivalent to 1.5 years of study.
Course attendance is compacted into intensive sessions designed to fit around busy work and family schedules. Students typically attend a three-day opening intensive and a three-day closing intensive per course. Additionally, students complete assessment items between opening and closing intensive sessions, and in some cases an exam.
Students will also complete an extended project, which provides the opportunity to work on real business enterprises with support, input and guidance from academics with practical experience.
Assessment will be based on a combination of oral presentations, practical assignments, tutorial participation and written examinations. Both in class and on-line methodologies will be employed and assessment will consist of a combination of group and individual work.
A variety of assessment tasks will allow students to display their ability to apply their knowledge to their technical skill base. For example, in one of the subjects, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge by taking part in a business planning competition. This will involve team work, presentation skills, analytical and problem solving skills and application of technical knowledge within the domain of entrepreneurship and innovation. Students will have the opportunity to provide a written analysis for assessment as an individual component of their assessment, as well as peer and group assessment.
