Suited to graduates wanting a greater depth of specialisation than the one year masters engineering program, this program gives the option of studying technical courses at an advanced level and the opportunity to engage in a research project.
The program provides an advanced level of education in signal processing techniques and their application to sensor systems, including imaging systems, sonar and radar.
A 48-unit program, students will complete the requirements for the Masters of Engineering, with additional study comprising 12 units of more advanced technical coursework. A project to the value of 12 units introduces candidates to research.
Intending students should consult the program coordinator early in the year in which they plan to study to check when particular courses or projects will be available.
Students are required to complete the 24 units of study required for
the Master of Engineering, with additional study comprising 12 units of
advanced coursework and a research project to the value of 12 units.
The program normally takes four semesters of full-time study and is
made up of 75% coursework and 25% research project. There are three
core courses designed to provide generic skills applicable across all
fields of engineering.
Each semester, students are required to undertake two to three Sensor Systems Signal Processing elective courses. In addition to the coursework, students are required to undertake a two-semester masters project in Sensor Systems Signal Processing under the guidance of an academic supervisor, give seminars and write reports on the research.
