Charges
DIATOMA has set the following charges for diatom sample preparation and analysis for 2004:- 0-50 samples: AUS $140/sample
- 50-100 samples: AUS $130/sample
- >100 samples: AUS $110/sample
A 20% surcharge is set for urgent results (4 weeks turnaround)
Also DIATOMA can provide multivariate analyses of data sets and can infer water quality from diatom assemblages. Also in many instances
we can infer past water quality conditions from fossil diatom assemblages
extracted from wetland sediments. Cost for this, and all other services,
by arrangement.

Sending
Provided you have used only a few drops of dilute ethanol, you can send your samples in the mail. Once the samples have settled, minimise the amount of water remaining, seal and pack them securely and declare the contents on the package as "Fixed Algal Samples" From outside Australia, samples not fixed will require an import permit. Quarantine services will contact us and pass on the samples once we guarantee immediate chemical treatment. Address packages to:
