Dr Alana Rosenblatt

Biography/ Background

After graduating from Veterinary School at the University of Queensland in 2005, I accepted a position as an emergency clinician at the Western Animal Emergency Centre, Brisbane. After 13 months in emergency practice I commenced a rotating small animal internship at UQ. I had always enjoyed diagnostic imaging, but during this time I developed a very keen interest which led me into a 2-year radiology internship. I became a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in the subject of Radiology in 2009. My particular passion is for small animal ultrasonography. Subsequent to my internship I stayed on at UQ as a radiology clinican for a further year before joining the School of Veterinary Sciences at The University of Adelaide.

MACVSc (Radiology) - Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists

 

Teaching Interests

I have been involved in the clinical teaching of veterinary students for the last 6 years, in a range of disciplines. However I very much enjoy teaching diagnostic imaging to students, especially in the clinical setting. I particularly value the use of small group teaching when developing the skills of the students in such a practical field.

 

Research Interests

Currently enrolled in a Master of Philosophy degree, researching Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) in Dachshunds.

The PennHIP method of scoring hip dysplasia in dogs.
