Ms Alison White

Biography/ Background

Alison joined the International Office in January 2006, and has been employed by the University for over six years in both academic and administrative areas.

Alison's current role in the International Office is to coordinate the implementation and ongoing management of an online application system for international students (including training for international education agents), as well as to: conduct a strategic review of the University's international marketing and student recruitment publications; conduct regular strategic analysis of internal application data and relevant national and international trends; and provide ongoing executive strategic advice to the Director of the International Office .

Between 2003 and 2005, Alison worked in the Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost. Her role concentrated on strategy and policy and she was responsible for: drafting University responses to the State or Commonwealth governments on behalf of the University; drafting confidential briefing papers to the Vice-Chancellor; organising various aspects of the University's strategic planning activities (including drafting the contextual analysis section of the Strategic Plan); and providing executive support and project management to various Learning and Teaching working groups and committees.

Alison's experience in an academic Faculty has included providing program and course advice to prospective and current students, as well as various other aspects of student administration, including: reviewing student pathways and updating program rules; updating Faculty information in print and electronic publications; representing the Faculty at various recruitment activities, and developing and reviewing Faculty timetabling policies.
