Research Interests

My research interests are primarily in the field of regolith geology. My research focus is in understanding the nature of regolith-forming processes, and the consequent expression on the landscape, using clues from regolith and surface attributes, such as termite mounds (termitaria), other soil organisms, and surface materials.

My fieldwork incorporates regolith-landform mapping and termite mound sampling, some of which has been undertaken with other researchers within Program 1 (Regolith Geosciences) in the Cooperative Research Centre for Landscapes, Environment and Mineral Exploration (CRCLEME). As part of this research, I have looked at regolith-landform mapping and termite mound sampling at several key sites, including northern Australia (e.g. The Tanami Region) and East Africa (Tanzania). This PhD project work forms part of a wider Industry/Research/Government collaboration, and aims to development of a cost-effective means of exploring through cover in the Tanami Region.
