Biography/ Background

Mrs Anne Arnold is an associate lecturer in the School of Economics.

She has an M Ec and a B Sc (Maths), both from The University of Adelaide.

She worked as an economist with the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney before academic appointments at The University of Adelaide and briefly at The Flinders University of South Australia.

Qualifications

B. Ec.(Hons), M. Ec., B. Sc.(Maths)

Teaching Interests

Her main teaching has been in the first and second year maths and statistics for business and economics students as well as some macro and micro economics. She has researched in aspects of teaching at first year University level, including issues related to inspiring students who have no interest in doing a particular course; encouraging students to be independent learners and the evaluation of teaching methods.

Research Interests

Research interests include the role of information in agricultural decision making, particularly related to wheat growing in South Australia and other aspects of the South Australian economy, as well as issues relating to the teaching and learning in business statistics. Her Ph D is concerned with different royalty systems for agricultural crops, especially as applied to wheat in Australia.
