Professor Colin Hansen

Biography/ Background

Professor Hansen was awarded his PhD in acoustics and vibration by the University of Adelaide, Australia, in 1980 and is currently Professor and Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering at the same university. He has spent the last 30 years researching consulting and teaching in acoustics and the past 21 years as an academic staff member at the University of Adelaide. Prior to that he was an acoustics and vibration consultant with BBN in Los Angeles, USA (4 years) and CJ Abell and Co in Adelaide, South Australia (3 years). He is the author or co-author of 10 books and 8 book chapters and the editor of 2 books. He has also authored and co-authored over 200 papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
