MyUni Upgrade 2010

In order to improve MyUni and keep current with the latest learning management system features we will be upgrading to Blackboard 9.1 at the end of 2010. This upgrade will bring improvements to the user interface as well as technical improvements and solutions to previous problems.

Plagiarism eSim - Online Roleplay

Developed collaboratively by staff across the University of Adelaide, Tafe, DFEEST and Uni SA, the Plagiarism eSim is a short, online role play which can be used to explore:

  • the value of online roleplay as a learning and teaching activitiy
  • learning design features, and
  • multiple perspectives toward plagiarism issues.

Health Education Development and Innovation - Videos

Working with the Dental School's HEDI group, numerous educational video and multimedia resources have been produced to demonstrate dental clinical practice. The video resources provide students with a close up view not achievable by live demonstrations as well as allowing students to review the procedure as many times as they like in preparation for clinic.

MyMedia Lecture Recording

The MyMedia service is available to all university staff and enables the audio and video recording of lectures for access by students through MyUni. Evaluation of the MyMedia service were completed in 2006 and 2009 including staff and students surveys. The reports are available on the MyMedia website.

Wikis

The University has it's very own wiki farm where staff can set up wikis for collaborating on projects within their profession. There is also a wiki tool within MyUni that can be used for student collaboration and peer review on group projects. The online education service is continuing to be involved in the development of wiki facilities and resources for staff and students.

The Mekong Esim

The Mekong e-Sim is a web based role-play/simulation set in the Mekong area of South-East Asia that is part of the Civil Engineering course at Adelaide University. The online education team worked with Dr Holger Maier to use multimedia to increase student engagement and enhance the realism of the simulation.

Online Academic Writing Modules - Writing and Speaking at Uni

In collaboration with the Language Learning Service, a number of self help online modules for students covering essay writing, paragraph writing and cohesive writing have been made available through MyUni. The modules include real examples of student writing along with assessors comments as well as interactive exercises throughout to promote active learning.
