Ms Gabrielle Appleby
Biography/ Background
I have taught previously in the public law field at the University of Melbourne and the University of Queensland. I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide researching the constitutional role of the Solicitor-General in Australia.
My work in practice includes time with the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office as a Senior Solicitor and as a solicitor with Minter Ellison (Brisbane) in the competition and intellectual property team. I spent a year as an associate to his Honour Justice PD McMurdo of the Supreme Court of Queensland. I was an articled clerk to Mr Conrad Lohe, Crown Solicitor of Queensland.
I have been involved in a number of important pieces of High Court constitutional litigation representing the State of Queensland, including Fardon v AG (Qld), APLA v Legal Services Commissioner (NSW) and Coleman v Power.
