I commenced my nursing career in 1990 at the Royal Adelaide Hospital completing the Registered Nurse Program in 1993. I then worked as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Surgical area for the next four years. In 1996 I was employed in the private sector at Ashford Community Hospital where I continued my career in Cardiac Surgical Nursing. I found however that I missed the public sector and wished to persue a post graduate qualification so returned to the RAH where I spent 10 years working in the Post Operative Recovery Room and completed a Graduate Diploma in Anaesethetics and Recovery Nursing. My position in the POR also included time spent working with the Acute pain service and as a Recovery room nurse educator.

I have always had an interest in education and teaching and have worked as a Graduate Support Nurse, University student facilitator. These roles have only reinforced for me the desire to teach in a more formal setting and to be involved in curiculum development and research. I have been employed in my current position as First Year Undergraduate Nursing Co-ordinator in the Adelaide Nurisng School at the University of Adelaide since July 2010.

I have completed my HDR Masters of Clinical Science in 2016 titled "What is the influence of clinical experience on the student nurses abiltiy to provide patient centred care" Since completing this degree I have contributed to several publications focusing on FOC research and activities. My current role includes co-ordination and teaching in both the classroom and in the Simmulation Suite to facilitate clinical skills and simmulated teaching.

I am an edication specialist and a member of the Adelaide Education Academy which supports teching expertise and excellence in the Univeristy of Adelaide.

My research interestes are in Patient Centred Care and the Fundamentals of care which is the main focus in our 1st year undergraduate nurisng program.
