  • Biography/ Background

    Ms Jan Alderman currently works as a Lecturer at the University of Adelaide in the Adelaide Nursing School. Jan is the Co-ordinator of First Year Bachelor of Nursing students and has held this role since 2010. She currently teaches in both the Undergraduate and Post Graduate programs.

    Prior to her appointment at the University of Adelaide Jan worked in both the private and public sector as a Registered Nurse. She spent 10 years working in the Post Anaesthetic Recovery Room of the Royal Adelaide Hospital and completed a Graduate Diploma in Recovery and anaesthetic Nursing.

    Jan completed a Masters of Clinical Science in 2016 titled "What is the influence of clinical experience on the student nurses ability to provide patient centred care"

    Since completing this degree Jan has published and contributed to several articles focusing on Fundamentals of Care in nursing.  Jan’s research interests are in Patient Centred Care and the Fundamentals of Care

    Jan is an Education Specialist and a member of the Adelaide Education Academy which supports teaching expertise and excellence in the University of Adelaide.
