Dr Jason Eglinton
Research Interests
- Development of malting and feed barley varieties for Southern Australia.
- Biochemistry and genetics of malt quality, the physiology and genetics of abiotic stress tolerance,and the development and implementation of new Marker Assisted Selection (MAS) strategies.
- Currently involved in research projects addressing aspects of barley quality including protein and carbohydrate modification during germination, wort fermentability, and novel MAS strategies for breeding malting barley.
- Also involved in abiotic stress research including projects investigating tolerance to salinity, boron toxicity and frost.
