Mr John De Laine

Biography/ Background

John has been writing since 1995, and since that time has published short stories, poems and reviews in numerous newspapers, magazines and anthologies, both in Australia and overseas.

In prizes, John has won the Bundey Prize for English Verse. He has also won high commendations for his poetry in the FAW (WA) Tom Collins Poetry Prize and the FAW (Vic) John Shaw Neilson Poetry Award. He has won a commendation for short fiction in the Australian Horror Writers' Association Short Fiction Contest.

In collaborative work, John's short film script The Timetable (dir Brad Halstead) was produced by ACA TAFE in 2007. His one act play When Bob Gets Here has been produced (2008) by the Adelaide University Theatre Guild.
