Ms Kay Leverett
To link to this page, please use the following URL: Biography/ BackgroundAs Research Librarian for Engineering in the Barr Smith Library I primarily deal with students and staff in the Schools of Chemical Engineering; Civil, Environmental & Mining Engineering; Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Mechanical Engineering, and the Australian School of Petroleum. I hope to be able to introduce students to the additional sources of information, to which the Library subscribes, which are beyond the basic internet search on free resources such as Google. To this end I offer literature searching training sessions for individuals or small groups of students. These sessions of about 50 minutes, are usually related to specific needs for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. My desk, in the Research & Reference Librarians area on Level 2 of the Barr Smith Library, is in the link between the north and south parts of the Library. My personal interests are O Gauge model trains; Armstrong Siddeley cars, the history of technology, and working out what will grow in my garden on non-wetting soil over clay.
