Biography/ Background

As Research Librarian for Engineering and Architecture in the Barr Smith Library I primarily deal with students and staff in the Schools of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Studies; Chemical Engineering; Civil, Environmental & Mining Engineering; Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Mechanical Engineering, and the Australian School of Petroleum.

I hope to be able to introduce students to the additional sources of information, to which the Library subscribes, which are beyond the basic internet search on free resources. To this end I offer literature searching training sessions for individuals or small groups of students. These sessions of about 50 minutes, are usually related to specific needs for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Organising such sessions is as easy as the student emailing me with some times that suit them. The Library's Training Rooms provide computers and privacy!

My desk is in the Research & Reference Librarians area on Level 3, South of the Barr Smith Library.

My personal interests are O gauge model trains; Armstrong Siddeley cars, the history of technology, and working out what will grow in my garden on non-wetting soil over clay.
