Biography/ Background

Before joined this university in January 2008, worked as a faculty member (as assistant professor and later as associate professor) at the UAE University in the department of chemical and petroleum engineering during February 2004-January 2008. Previously worked as a lecturer at the Australian School of Petroleum, University of Adelaide, Australia, for two years (April 2002-February 2004).

Has been teaching drilling engineering, well completion & stimulation, well performance & well pressure testing, and production-operation at undergraduate and graduate levels since 2002.

Worked as a geothermal engineer in geothermal institute and geothermal company during 1994-97 in New Zealand. Worked about five years (1985-1990) as an engineer in a petroleum company, Sylhet Gas Fields Ltd, Bangladesh, and was responsible for drilling and production-operation of oil and gas-condensate wells.

Co-authored several journal papers, conference papers and industry reports (please see publication list). Presented several papers/research findings at SPE conferences/applied technology workshops and chaired technical sessions.
