Professor Noel Lindsay
To link to this page, please use the following URL: Biography/ BackgroundAt 16, Noel Lindsay dropped out of school to start his first business which initially succeeded but then failed. Learning from this failure prompted him to complete his high school education of an evening while working during the day and then enter University. After completing his PhD in Commerce at The University of Queensland, Noel co-founded, developed, and harvested successful businesses in Australia, South Africa, and Malaysia. He also worked in the corporate insolvency field in the areas of company liquidations and receiverships and then in private equity as a Director of a $22 million venture capital fund that invested $1m-$3m in growth-oriented entrepreneurial ventures. As Professor of Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation, Academic Director Singapore Operations, and Director of the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC) at the University of Adelaide, he leads a team that teaches and undertakes research in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, technology commercialisation, and project management. Noel is a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is a Fellow of CPA Australia. He holds a Practicing Certificate with both organisations. The Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation & Innovation Centre's (ECIC) Mission is to stimulate innovation through its research, teaching, and community engagement activities. Its main offices are located in the Engineering South Building on the University of Adelaide's North Terrace campus. It also has offices in the ThIncLab Business Incubator that it operates for the University at Thebarton and in Australian Technology Park, Sydney, along with a presence on the University's Ngee-Ann campus in Singapore.
