Dr Sandrine Vidal-Gilbert

Biography/ Background

Sandrine joined the Australian School of Petroleum in 2008 following seven years of applied research experience with IFP (Institut Francais du Petrole) and three years as a Gaz de France funded research PhD at the University of Paris, France. She worked for Gaz de France on the integration of reservoir seismic monitoring and geomechanics for underground gas storage facility. In IFP, her main interests lied with 3D geomechanical modelling for CO₂ storage and with modelling sensitivity of seismic velocities to stress effects. She is currently the Discipline Leader for the Geomechanics/Petrophysics group, for CO2CRC.

1. PhD in Geosciences, 2002, Gaz de France and Paris VI University, Reservoir Parameters Interpretation from Seismic Reservoir Monitoring (4D seismic) Integrating Geomechanics.
2. MSc in Petroleum Geosciences, 1999, IFP School, Seismic Processing of 4-C multicomponent data, Elf Geoscience Research Center, Elf (Total) UK.
3. MSc in Geophysics, 1997, Strasbourg University, Institut de Physique du Globe, Underground gas storage geological model building from seismic and well-log data, Gaz de France, France.
