Ms Stella Ho

Biography/ Background

Stella has worked for over twenty years in universities in Australia and Hong Kong. She has wide-ranging experience in planning, coordinating and implementing effective management practices to optimise outcomes and meet business needs.

She first joined the University of Adelaide in 2000-2002 to work in the Centre for the Molecular Genetics of Development, and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She rejoined the University in early 2012 as Academic Support Officer in the School of Architecture and Built Environment.

Prior to rejoining the University, she furthered studies and widened her university experience by taking on various roles at the University of South Australia as diverse as Golden Key tutor, and administrative positions in a research centre and the International Office. She also worked as research assistant in the School of Management to analyse AUQA (Australian Universities Quality Agency) reports to support research projects on ‘internationalisation’ and ‘student experience’, and as academic researcher to explore teaching materials on contemporary management issues. She assisted the conduct of an ‘Australian Graduate Survey (Graduate Destinations Survey)’ and the Service Improvement Project before joining the School of Art, Architecture and Design as Academic Services Officer at UniSA.

Before migrating to Australia, Stella worked in the University of Hong Kong for thirteen years in the Faculty of Law, Academic Secretariat and the Department of Biochemistry. She also worked in the commercial sector, including two years with an architect company.

Stella's responsibilities in her current role include:

• Providing administrative support to the Head of School
• Assisting the PG Coordinator in the recruitment of postgraduate research students, and supporting students throughout candidature
