Biography/ Background

Completed Undergraduate Degree at Adelaide University in 1996. Worked abroad in the UK 1999 - 2003 in television production. Returned to do Honours at Adelaide University in 2003. Currently working PhD, due for submission at end of 2008.

Qualifications

BA Hons - 2003.
Current John Howard Clark Scholar.

Research Interests

The strange nature of memory, the relationship between private remembering and public acts of 'remembrance', how grief can both 'remove' us from our physical environment and
anchor us to particular 'sacred' sites.

Pilgrimage and Thanatoursim - the links and differences between the two concepts.

Professional Associations

Co-founding members of Wordfire are Carol Lefevre, Katherine Doube and Emma Carmody.

Community Engagement

Active member of Adelaide PEN, having organised a series of reading for the Fringe / WORD event in 2007. Co-founder of Wordfire - www.wordfire.onestop.net Has conducted live intervies for Animate Live Literary Journal and the South Australian Writers' Centre. Co-organiser of unConventional, a Creative Writing Colloquium organised by students from Flinders, UniSA, the Adelaide Centre for the Arts and Adelaide University.
