Research Interests

The development of simulation models as a tool for exploring the suitability of resource management policy options, particularly with regard to sustainability criteria.

Current Research Project

PhD Thesis - Development of an Integrated Modelling Framework for Assessment of Irrigation Management Policies.

This project focuses firstly on the development of a conceptual model describing the environmental, economic and social components of an irrigated landscape. The conceptual model will be implemented using a case study of irrigation on the Murray River. The structure of the model is designed to allow the simulation environment to be useful for investigating the sensitivity of the system to different assumptions defining behavioural responses of stakeholders to policy and environmental settings.

Supervisors

Professor Holger Maier - Associate Professor, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Adelaide.

Dr Jeff Connor - Research Scientist, Policy and Economics Research Unit, CSIRO Land and Water, Adelaide.

Professor Graeme Dandy - Professor, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Adelaide.
