Verity completed her South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) in 2003 at Thebarton Senior College. In 2004 she then commenced a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Adelaide concentrating her studies on Geology and Geophysics. In 2008, Verity completed her degree with a major in Environmental Geoscience and in 2009 continued her studies in the environmental geoscience honours program. In the same year Verity completed her honours degree where she was awarded a First Class Award. In March 2010, Verity commenced a Phd in environmental geoscience after receiving an Australian Postraduate Award scholarship. Verity’s research will concentrate on Permian Palaeolandscape Reconstruction in Southern Australia with a view to creating a framework for mineral exploration in deeply covered settings. Verity will be concentrating her research in the Troubridge and Arckaringa Basins in South Australia as well as working in Western Australia and Victoria. Verity’s research will be supported by the newly formed Deep Exploration Technologies Cooperative Research Centre (DET CRC) as well as the Centre for Tectonics Resources and Exploration (TRaX). Verity will be supervised by Steven Hill and Robert Dart. Further information about TRaX can be found at http://www.adelaide.edu.au/trax/research/landscape.html Further information about Steven Hill’s research can be found at http://www.adelaide.edu.au/directory/steven.hill Further information about Robert Dart’s research can be found at http://www.adelaide.edu.au/directory/robert.dart Further information about the DET CRC can be found at https://detcrc.centric.com.au/ While Verity was an undergraduate she also worked part-time as a checkout supervisor and relieving checkout and store support manager at a large supermarket chain. In 2009 Verity was also employed at PIRSA as a cadet geologist working on a variety of projects. Over the summer break of 2009/2010 Verity continued her employ with PIRSA as a full-time graduate geologist through SACOME’s Graduate Assistance Program (GAP). Verity generated isopach maps of the Adelaidean and Post-Adelaidean sediments in the Stuart Shelf region as well as working on several ongoing uranium and groundwater investigations.
