Professor Joseph Aharony

Dr. Joseph Aharony is a tenured professor of Accounting at the Faculty of Management, Tel Aviv University, Israel and an Honorary Adjunct Professor at The University of Adelaide Business School. He received his BA and MBA from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem and his Ph.D from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Dr. Aharony served twice as the Chairperson of the Accounting Department at Tel Aviv University. His research focuses on market-based accounting research and includes topics such as value-relevance of accounting information; IPOs and accounting related issues; earnings management; corporate governance; China-related empirical research. Dr. Aharony has published numerous articles in such leading academic journals as Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Public policy, Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Journal of Monetary Economics and Journal of Banking and Finance. Dr. Aharony served as a visiting professor at the Leventhal School of Accounting, the University of Southern California; Baruch College, CUNY; Anderson Graduate School of Management, UCLA; Free University of Bolzano, Italy; Bocconi University, Milano, Italy; School of Accountancy, Singapore Management University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
