University of Adelaide

The University of Adelaide can deliver quality professional development opportunities for TAFE SA staff.

Centre for Learning and Professional Development (CLPD)

CLPD provides a variety of Learning and Teaching programs open to TAFE SA staff including leadership development, course design, teaching methods, online education, assessment and evaluation, spoken language strategies for staff from non-English speaking backgrounds.  Short courses, seminars and workshops are offered throughout the year.

Professional and Continuing Education (PCE)

Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) courses at the University of Adelaide are open to TAFE SA staff to assist them with their professional and personal development needs. One to three day courses are offered in the areas of business development, leadership management, supervision, communication, personal development and computer skills.

PCE can also design specific programs to meet the training and development need of academic staff from TAFE SA. In addition to the public programs the unit can assist TAFE SA staff in team-building activities, facilitating planning days and conducting individual and group career planning sessions.

PCE can also offer TAFE SA managerial staff individual coaching programs for leadership, management, business and career development. Personal coaching is particularly suited to individuals who are committed to their own professional development and are open to receiving feedback and support to this end.

Adelaide Graduate Centre

TAFE SA staff already have well established links with University colleagues and may be interested in developing their research capabilities.

Advanced Skills Lecturers and Principal Lecturers considering Higher Degree by Research study at the University of Adelaide may qualify for the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations’ Research Training Scheme (RTS) HECS exemption scholarship. Candidates should confirm the availability of funded places at the time of admission.

Summer & Winter School

The University of Adelaide's Summer & Winter School offers a range of intensive courses that are taught during the summer and winter semester breaks.

A wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered from all five of the University’s faculties. This broad array of courses seeks to complement and inspire learners. The University of Adelaide’s Summer & Winter School is open to TAFE SA staff. TAFE SA

University academics may wish to explore or develop further skills in the application of the body of knowledge from their area of expertise.  The program sponsoring General Manager or Educational Manager from the TAFE SA campus offering the course should be contacted to discuss the development and/or customisation of specific opportunities to meet identified professional development requirements.
