Portfolio Areas

The Division comprises

  • the Office of the DVC&VP(A) which includes the portfolio areas of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (International), the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Learning and Quality), the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Academic Director of Singapore Campus, Strategy and Planning, and Major Projects.
  • Student Services which includes the International Office, Student Support Services, Student Administrative Services, the Prospective Students Office and the Student Centre.
  • The Centre for Learning and Professional Development, and Professional and Continuing Education.

The Organisational Chart of the Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) shows the relationship between the composite entities of the Division.

The Executive Deans of the five University Faculties report to the DVC&VP(A). Executive Deans are responsible for the overall strategic and operational planning, academic leadership, staff development and finance and infrastructure management of their Faculty. They also have a key role in the liaison between the Faculty and the senior management of the University.

Portfolio of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International)

Under the leadership of the PVC(I), staff in this portfolio facilitate the development of strategic alliances and collaborative agreements with international partners including articulation, twinning and off-shore teaching arrangements, develop international policy, and monitor the welfare, progress and academic achievements of international students. 

Portfolio of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Quality)

The focus of the PVC(L&Q)’s portfolio is on quality assurance in learning and teaching and academic support for staff and students. The Quality and Reviews unit and the Centre for Learning and Professional Development report to the PVC(L&Q).

Dean of Postgraduate Coursework Studies

The Dean of Postgraduate Coursework Studies is responsible for implementing the recommendations of the 2008 Postgraduate Coursework Working Party, and facilitating the development and marketing of new programs in line with the University’s strategy for expansion.

Faculty Associate Deans (International)

Academic Director of the Singapore Campus

The Academic Director provides oversight and leadership for the academic activities undertaken at the Singapore Campus, including quality assurance, student experience and program development.

Strategy & Planning

Strategy and Planning is responsible for preparing University performance reports, co-ordinating the University’s statutory reporting obligations, load management, benchmarking, and for the operation of the University’s strategic planning and implementation and performance reporting framework. The Datawarehouse and survey management are also the responsibility of Strategy and Planning.

Major Projects

The main role of the Major Projects team is to operationalise the strategies of the DVC&VP(A) including the implementation of the Education Plan. Major Projects also supports University Committees, the management of the Singapore Campus, the Summer and Winter School, academic and student related policy development, and aspects of the internationalisation portfolio including the international agreements database and visiting delegations.

Student Services 

International Office

The major roles of the International Office is international student recruitment and marketing, international student admissions and the administration of study abroad and exchange programs. The International Office has oversight of a network of student recruitment agents in many countries.

Student Administrative Services

Student Administrative Services is responsible for admissions, enrolments and student records, undergraduate scholarships, examinations, graduations, student finance and student grievance resolution. Timetabling and Peoplesoft system configuration and support are also managed by Student Administrative Services.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services comprises the International Student Centre, Accommodation Services, the Transition Unit, Counselling, Disability and Elite Athlete Services and Career Service. The aim of this unit is to aid in transition to and from University, and to provide assistance to students during their academic studies.

Student Centre

The Student Centre is an information service and the main enquiry point for prospective domestic and international students. It incorporates Card Services and manages the Student Ambassadors Scheme.

Prospective Students Office

The Prospective Student Office is responsible for student recruitment activities in Australia, and the development and production of student publications. The Office has a promotional and events management focus and liaises closely with secondary schools and their students.

Academic Support for Staff & Students 

Centre for Learning & Professional Development

The CLPD provides development programs to enhance student learning, staff teaching and staff development through research and the provision of educational services, resources and consultancies. CLPD is also responsible for MyUni and the evaluation of student learning.

Professional & Continuing Education

PCE provides educational and training programs, seminars and workshops for participants from the community, professions, business and industry. PCE incorporates the English Language Centre which provides English language programs, cultural programs and English teacher training services (TESOL) for international students and visiting groups from offshore institutions.
