Portfolio Areas


Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Academic)   

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Academic) is part of the the Division of the DVC&VP(A). The Office is made up of the portfolio areas of PVC(L&Q), the PVC(I), Strategy & Planning, Major Projects and the Secretariat supporting their activities. An organisational chart is available.

Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Quality) 
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Quality) contributes to achieving the University’s strategic goals by providing leadership in the areas of learning and teaching, as well as oversight of the University’s quality assurance processes. The Centre for Learning and Professional Development operates within the PVC(L&Q) portfolio to assist in achieving the University’s educational aims and objectives for both staff and students. 

Pro Vice-Chancellor (International)
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) provides leadership and vision in achieving the University's strategic goals by establishing relationships with international institutions, developing international policy, contributing to the recruitment of international students and monitoring their welfare off and onshore. 

Strategy & Planning
Strategy and Planning is responsible for the University-wide planning framework and related issues. The Strategy and Planning Team provide management information on a predictable and cyclic basis, as well as conducting ad hoc statistical enquiries and analyses. The team is also responsible for the coordination of the University's statutory reporting obligations and for supporting internal load management and budget processes. The team provides survey management and manages the data warehouse.

Major Projects 
Major Projects is responsible for the management of University-wide projects designed to support the University’s strategic goals. The position of Web Coordinator for the Division is located in this portfolio. Guidelines for web maintenance have been provided for all web maintainers in the Division.


Student Services 

International Office
The International Office assists prospective international students who are interested in studying at the University of Adelaide. Key responsibilities include the assessment and processing of international student applications, marketing to prospective international students, coordinating the University's network of Overseas Representatives, and administering the University's Study Abroad and Student Exchange programs.

Student Administrative Services
Student Administrative Services deals with the following areas of student activity: student policy and appeals, finance, student system solutions, scholarships, admissions, examinations, enrolments, graduation

Student Information & Services
Student Information & Services provides information to people seeking entry to the University; helps current students with administrative matters; and assists students with career preparation and career management. SISB comprises the Prospective Students Office, the Careers Service and the Student Centre (including Card Services).

Student Support Services
Student Support Services deals with the following areas of student activity: international student centre, international student advisors, study abroad and exchange advisor, international sponsored student advisor, counsellors, disability liaison, disability support, accommodation services, including Roseworthy


For students and staff 

Centre for Learning & Professional Development
The CLPD provides programs designed to enhance student learning, staff teaching and development. Staff of the CLPD conduct educational research, develop and provide resources to staff and students and offer consultancies.

Professional & Continuing Education
PCE is an important bridge between the community and the University. They offer a range of high-quality educational and training programs to suit the educational needs of staff and the community. Their courses are open to everyone, and formal qualifications are not required for most. The courses are a rewarding experience, meeting a high University standard and designed to bring participants closer to their educational goals.


Representing the Faculties

Executive Deans
The five Executive Deans are the senior managers of the University Faculties. They play a critical role in providing leadership for the Faculty and liaison between the Faculty and the senior management of the University. Working with the Heads of School and Discipline Leaders, the Executive Deans are responsible for the overall strategic and operational planning, academic leadership, staff development and management and finance and infrastructure management of the Faculty.
