Mentoring
The aim of the mentoring scheme is to assist an echallenge team with building a robust, realistic business model with a view to possible commercialisation. Mentors are professionals who are donating their time to the echallenge. These volunteers have experience writing business plans and/or building great companies. While their free time is in short supply, these mentors have pledged to help advise echallenge teams to develop a stronger business plan.
The mentor guidelines have been developed to provide an overview of the mentoring process and to assist mentors and teams to manage their relationship effectively.
Guidelines
- Mentors have agreed to provide approximately two hours per week of their time, over a six week period to assist an echallenge team in the preparation of their business plan. Specific timeframes will vary according to mentors' availability and team requirements.
- Confidentiality of team information essential to the success of the competition and mentors have agreed to keep team information confidential.
- The mentoring scheme will begin in the week beginning Monday 7 September 2009 and proceed until the time that business plans are due for judging on Thursday 15th October 2009.
- Any difficulties arising from a mentor/team relationship will be resolved by the Organising Committee of the echallenge.
