Solar at Roseworthy and a ‘Carbon Free’ Campus

Student houses and buildings at Roseworthy consume a considerable amount of energy, including electricity to power lighting and plug-ins, and to heat water.

This Green Project Fund project includes a 20kW ground mounted solar array (around 80 panels) will be built at Roseworthy at a location close to the residential houses and in view of the main entrance to the campus. The array will produce the equivalent of 30% of the energy required to power the Custance House student accommodation. The balance of emissions (70%) will be eliminated through an annual student-led revegetation program on key areas of the campus and the adjacent farming land. Students will also undertake additional behaviour change practices.

Faculty/School/Unit: Faculty of Sciences, School of Animal & Veterinary Sciences
