What does the program involve?

This program combines face-to-face delivery, self-study and group work. Participants will observe experienced ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teachers and participate in teaching practice with ESOL learners at various levels.

This program can be undertaken either full time or part time.

Features of the program include:

  • Language teaching methodologies
  • Cross-cultural influences in the context of an ESOL classroom
  • Analysing communication
  • Development of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills
  • Features of pronunciation
  • Classroom management and organisation
  • Designing a timetable
  • Developing language teaching materials
  • Observation of experienced ESOL teachers
  • Teaching practice with ESOL learners at various levels of English language learning
