Exercise 1

Present simple, past simple or present perfect

These sentences are written in a mixture of present simple, past simple or present perfect, but they are not all in the correct boxes.
e.g. People nowadays often hate/have hated/hated the effort required to write an essay. The word 'nowadays' tells you that this should be in the present simple, so you should put it in the 'present simple' box.

Drag each sentence into the present simple, past simple or present perfect box. Then click 'submit' to see if your answers are correct and read why each sentence sounds better in the present simple, past simple or present perfect.

If you are not using a computer mouse then to use buttons to move the sentences from one column to the other (since dragging does not work without a mouse).
