Step 2 - Plan your timetable
Use the Class Planner Worksheet to plan
your timetable using the Course
Planner.
Before you begin, there are some things you need to understand in order to make selecting and
enrolling into your classes as quick and easy as possible:
- All classes for a course are grouped together to ensure you enrol into all required classes.
- There may be several types of classes for a course - for example a lecture, tutorial and practical.
- There may also be an automated process set up so that when you select one class it automatically
enrols you into another class (generally though you will select each related class from a list).
- The enrolment class is the key to the whole process, you must select this class first, then you
will be presented with any related classes that you need to choose.
- You should enrol in all your classes for all semesters for the upcoming year
|
Class Number |
Every class has a unique number (eg 30133)
|
|
Enrolment Class
|
This is the first class you must enrol in and it could be
any type of class - eg a lecture, tutorial or practical etc. |
|
Related Classes |
These are the other required classes for the course and could be
any type of class - lecture, tutorial, practical, seminar, etc. Usually you will need to choose one
class from a list for each related class.
Sometimes when you select the enrolment class you may be automatically enrolled
into a related class, this will be identified in the Course Planner immediately
below the enrolment classes and in Access Adelaide from the [Auto Enrol] listing
in the Action column when adding classes. |
Search Tips
You can search by Course Title, Subject Area or Catalogue Number. For best results, enter just part of the course title OR choose a subject area then select 'search' .
Course Planner Details
You should note the details about the semester, last day to add online, census
date, last day to Withdraw No Fail and Withdraw Fail. These dates are important. If you want to drop the course, you must do so on or before the census date or
you WILL incur a liability and have a WNF/WF on your record.
You need to pick one of each class type and write the class numbers into the
appropriate slots on your Class Planner Worksheet (you
may also like to record an alternate). You should plan your classes and then enrol for ALL semesters
in the year.
