Martin spoke about changes in past climate including a time when the Sahara was green, floods and droughts in the Nile basin and impacts of the Toba volcanic eruption. He concludes with discussion on global warming and future changes.

Tim addressed the question: how stable is our climate? He explains that although we are currently in a stable climate model, climate was highly variable during the last Ice Age. Tim also discussed current threats of climate change and implications for Australia.
