Predicting coral reef biodiversity patterns for conservation: a confederacy of ecological scales

Dr Camille Mellin is a Research Associate working with Assoc. Prof Corey Bradshaw on the predictive modeling of coral reef biodiversity patterns. She is employed by the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) as a postdoctoral fellow working with Mark Meekan and Julian Caley within the Commonwealth Environmental Research Facilities (CERF) Marine Biodiversity Hub.  Camille is a quantitative ecologist with a background in marine and coral reef ecology. She developed strong interests in statistics and ecological modeling during her studies and PhD. She is currently working on the spatially-explicit, statistical predictive modeling of biodiversity patterns on Australian coral reefs (Great Barrier Reef, Torres Strait, Ningaloo and Scott Reefs) from physical habitat characteristics.  Camille completed her PhD in Oceanology and Marine Biology at the University Pierre & Marie Curie, Paris VI, in December 2007. Camille performed her PhD at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) of Nouméa, New Caledonia, under the supervision of Professors D. Ponton and R. Galzin.
