Guest Speaker - Dr Lee Arnold

The Environment Institute and the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) presented Dr Lee Arnold from the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH), on Tuesday 4th September 2012.

 ‘Optical dating in a new light: Improved and extended-range chronologies using single-grain techniques'

Dr Arnold  discussed his work with optical dating techniques and their application to the dating of sediments across a broad range of depositional settings. He has worked on projects looking at extinction of megafauna, climate change, and human archaeology.
