Mike YoungProfessor Mike Young
(Executive Director)

Mike Young is director of the Environment Institute and one of the country's leading water policy experts. The Environment Institute brings together expertise in water, climate change, economics, marine research, energy technology, natural resource management and ancient DNA.

Barry BrookProfessor Barry Brook
(Director of Climate Change Research)
Barry Brook is an international research leader in global ecology and conservation biology. He holds the Foundation Sir Hubert Wilkins Chair of Climate Change. The principal motivation for his research is to identify ways and means of reducing biodiversity loss through mitigating the worst ravages of global change.

Alan CooperProfessor Alan Cooper
(Founding Committee Member)
Alan Cooper is a prestigious Australian Research Council Federation Fellow. He moved from Oxford University (where he was the Director of the Henry Wellcome Ancient Biomolecules Centre) to Adelaide in 2005 to establish the Australian Centre for Ancient DNA (ACAD). Alan uses ancient DNA to record and study evolutionary processes in real time, especially those associated with environmental change.

Graham NathanProfessor Graham Nathan
(
Founding Committee Member)
Graham (Gus) Nathan seeks to establish partnerships with industry and government to adopt multi-disciplinary approaches to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. He is director of the Centre for Energy Technology (CET). Gus has worked widely with industry to develop cleaner technologies in sectors spanning power generation, minerals processing, transport fuels and Olympic flames.

Andrew LoweProfessor Andrew Lowe
(
Founding Committee Member)
Andrew Lowe currently holds a joint position as Professor of Plant Conservation Biology at the University of Adelaide and Head of Science at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium. Andrew is the director of the Australian Centre of Evolutionary Biology and Biodiversity (ACEBB). He has an international reputation for research into plant ecological and evolutionary genetics.

Wayne MeyerProfessor Wayne Meyer
(
Founding Committee Member)
Wayne Meyer was the former chief scientist for the CRC for Irrigation Futures, and has extensive experience in irrigated crop water use, soil water balance measurement, crop system modelling and research management. He is the director of the Landscapes Futures Program (LFP). His research aims to maximise the potential of human endeavours while maintaining vibrant and viable landscapes.

Corey BradshawAssociate Professor Corey Bradshaw
(
Founding Committee Member)
Corey Bradshaw currently holds a joint position with the University of Adelaide and the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI Aquatic Sciences). He is director of the Marine Biology Program (MBP). Corey has a strong international reputation for his work in conservation biology and population ecology.

Justin BrookesAssociate Professor Justin Brookes
(
Founding Committee Member)
Justin Brookes has supervised higher degree students in Earth and Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is director of the Water Research Centre (WRC). His research focuses on the quality of source water for potable supply, river and lake ecology and also the treatment of reuse water using biofiltration.
