Seminar
2 July 2008
Jon Karnon presented an internal seminar titled 'A framework for capacity constrained cost-effectiveness analysis' on 2 July 2008, and will be presenting a similar seminar as part of the Health Economics Collaboration Seminar Series 2008 at the University of Sydney on July 8 2008.
Project
University of York, Masters in Health Economics student Adam Martin is
starting his three month dissertation project at the University of
Adelaide on June 22 2008. Adam's dissertation will be based on the
ESIP, for which he will be collecting data, and developing and
analysing a prototype simulation model.
Naomi Bock has organised the development of an ESIP database to hold data extracted from patient case notes and patient surveys.
We have reviewed a small sample of patient case notes to identify the range of relevant clinical information that can be extracted. With the help of Dr Andeas Ebneter, we have specified the format by which such information is generally reported, which will aid the extraction process. The review also informed the exact specification of the database and variables to be collected.
Ethical approval for the project has been granted by the Royal Adelaide Hospital Ethics Committee, and we have responded to comments from the Aboriginal Health Ethics Committee.
