Welcome to the Office of Research Ethics, Compliance and Integrity
The Office of Research Ethics, Compliance and Integrity (ORECI) provides resources, advice and assistance to University personnel regarding their ethics and compliance obligations. The ORECI also provides secretarial support to the committees that have oversight of these ethics and compliance activities for the University and manages associated administrative requirements.
All University of Adelaide staff, students, title holders and visitors must ensure that they identify all relevant legislative and compliance requirements of the university and also of regulatory and advisory bodies in relation to their research, teaching, or experimentation. They must also undertake the necessary steps to meet their obligations with regard to obtaining the necessary clearances prior to commencing their work.
The work of the office covers: animal ethics, gene technology, human research ethics, quarantine and security sensitive biological agents. More information including procedures for applying for approvals, upcoming submission dates, news items, public consultation opportunities, procedures and guidelines and staff contact details are linked from the navigation to the left of this page.
