Human Research Approval Notification

The University of Adelaide accepts ethics approval for clinical staff members who have been granted approval by one of the following hospital Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC)

• Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH)
• The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH)
• Children, Youth and Women's Health Service (CYWHS)

Researchers are required to notify the University of Adelaide of these approvals within fourteen days of receiving ethical clearance by completing the online

Human Research Approval Notification form (Try here if having problems).

Access to the online form is controlled using the same username and password as your University email account. Guidance information is contained within the notification form and once completed it can be electronically lodged. Renewal

Ethical approval of projects is for twelve months only.

Approval is renewed subject to receipt of a satisfactory brief report on the researchers' progress and their adherence to proper ethical standards. Researchers are required to submit this report on an Application form to renew ethical approval or report on project status.

Reporting

It is a condition of approval that the HREC is informed of the status of the project using the Application form to renew ethical approval or report on project status. This includes:

• adverse effects and unforeseen events
• amendments
• completion of the project.
• discontinuation of the project before the expected date of completion
• annual renewal
• changes to research personnel
