Ethics and Integrity in Research with Humans Workshop for Students

The next Ethics and Integrity in Research with Humans Workshop for HDR Students will be held on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 June, 2013 in the Napier Building, North Terrace Campus of The University of Adelaide.

This interactive workshop is open to higher degree by research (HDR) / research by higher degree (RHD) students, who have commenced their program of study in the last 12 months at the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia or Flinders University of South Australia. Note: this is a 1.5 day workshop with attendance required across both days.

The workshop aims to give participants:

  • an understanding of the ethical issues that may arise in research involving human participants (across the full spectrum from biological samples to whole populations);
  • tools to analyse and address these issues;
  • an understanding of what constitutes good practice in research;  and
  • information on how to prepare an ethics approval application to the Universities' Human Research Ethics Committees.

Current HDR students who have research projects which require human research ethics approval are strongly encouraged to register to attend this workshop. Non-HDR students whose current program of study requires an application for ethics approval may be eligible pending confirmation from the student's supervisor.

Online registration for the June 2013 Workshop opens on Monday 27th May. Please revisit this page from this date.

Note: students and staff of the University of Adelaide can access and download presentations given at the November 2012 Workshop from the Resources page.
