New Changes to Plant Health Legislation in South Australia 2009
On August 1st, 2009 the Plant Health Act came into force.
Under the Act, the University is required to register as an importer, and provide PIRSA with general information on plant movement to and from interstate. The movement of quaratine risk materials like phylloxera and fruit from fruit fly regions will require a permit.
For interstate permits contact Bruce Baker, Manager Compliance and Surveillance, Plant Health Operations (08 8168 5203), Bruce.Baker@sa.gov.au
Check this page as it will be updated as more information that concerns plants used for research purposes comes to hand.
