Q: UG - Does the University of Adelaide offer any Bridging Courses?Answer:Yes, in Mathematics and Chemistry. Mathematics The MLS offers three bridging courses designed for students seeking to refresh or learn more mathematics:
These courses are also open to current University students who see the need arising in their courses for a better background in Mathematics. MathsStart and MathsTrack are free to current University of Adelaide students. Details are available from the Mathematics Learning Service. Contact them by telephone on 8303 5862, drop in and see them upstairs on level 1 of the Schulz Building, or email mls@adelaide.edu.au Chemistry The course aims to overcome some of the difficulties which are experienced by less prepared students who enrol in Science, Engineering, Health Science and Agricultural Science programs (including Viticulture, Oenology, Environmental Management and Environmental Science). In a short course of this kind it is impossible to provide the same experience as a year of SACE Stage 2 Chemistry, but it is possible to cover some of the background assumed by the first year chemistry courses. The course runs for 2 weeks in the summer break from Monday 9th to Friday 20th of February 2009, from 9 am to 3 pm each day at a cost of AUD$475. If you require further information or advice about the course, please contact Dr Gerald Laurence: This record last updated Thursday, 14 May 2009 by Claire Tansing
