Q: Am I able to take sick leave if I don't have enough accruals?Answer:Sick/personal leave can not be taken in advance - only the period of leave accrued at that time can be requested. If a sick leave request needs to be submitted and there are not sufficient accruals then an alternative leave type will need to be used. Sick leave without pay is an alternative where no other leave type is available. Staff should consult with their Supervisors to discuss options.
