Q: Can Shared Paid Parental Leave be taken by both staff members at the same time?Answer:No. The first 14 weeks of Paid Maternity Leave and Paid Adoption Leave must be taken by the
birth mother or in the case of Adoption Leave, the primary care giver. The Paid Shared Parental Leave period must start after the birth mother or primary caregivers leave has concluded. Each person must take the leave separately in a single continuous period.
